Royal Court Satin

With an impeccable pedigree that combines linebreeding to the immortal El Shaklan with that of the divine Naadirah, influenced by the likes of the great Ruminaja Ali through his Australian National Champion son Anaza El Nizr, and of a colour that is a combination of two of the rarest genes found in the Arabian breed, Shay is extremely unique, and ultimately makes for the perfect addition to Chetar Arabians. Shay is an attention magnet - You can't help but notice the massive, elevated, powerful movement and her gorgeous, dishy profile with huge, wideset eyes! Shay is as conformationally correct and full of presence as her lineage indicates she should be - From her wedge shaped, dishy head and long, hooky neck set on a lovely laid back shoulder, to her powerful, close coupled hindquarter; From her compact back and loin to her refined legs with oh so short cannons and long forearm and gaskin - Shay is the complete package and as close to perfection as I could hope for in a mate for Azzaam! Photos just don't do this girl justice!

Shay is a Wild Bay Sabino Overo.. She is truly a 'Rarest of the Rare'! Wild Bay is the primitive sub-type Agouti allelle that further restricts the black leg markings to the fetlock and pastern only. Wild Bays are very hard to find these days. It is the 'original' version of the Bay colour we see today that was quite common long ago but has become a rarity among modern day equines. In Shay's case, her black leg markings are mottled rather than solid black in appearance, giving her an even more unusual look. Her lower legs are a mixture of black, tan and white hairs.
In addition to her rare base colour, Shay carries the Sabino Overo gene, and her expression of the gene is also unusual. Shay has the common

Shay's Colour

Linebred to both the celebrated mare Naadirah, and the legendary El Shaklan, and littered with names of recognized quality and beauty unsurpassed, Shay's pedigree is, in one word, impeccable. With predominantly Straight Egyptian lineage influenced by the best of Spanish and Polish lines and only a minimal Crabbet contribution, Shay's pedigree reads like a who's who of the World's top producing individuals. The likes of such greats as Ruminaja Ali, Anaza El Nizr, Bint Deenaa, Mustafa and Sankt George all appear within four generations. Beyond four generations of breeding, some six plus crosses to Hadban Enzahi and Ansata Ibn Halima emerge. Truly a pedigree that has heightened my expectations of how well Shay will produce to Azzaam!
Shay carries not only a double cross to El Shaklan, both lines through his awesome son Simeon Sa'ar, but also a triple cross to arguably one of Australia's, if not the World's most influential mares, the great Naadirah. A double Naadirah female is hard to find and rarely available for purchase, so finding a triple Naadirah filly not even three years old yet makes Shay's addition to Chetar Arabians an extremely exciting one! Shay's influence from Naadirah comes through her two most successful daughters - two crosses through Nara (x Hadban Enzahi) and one cross through Naazirah (x Mustafa).
Shay's breeding and colour on their own result in her being quite unique, but the fact that the personal circumstances surrounding the owners of her sire, and until recently previous owners of her dam resulted in very few progeny being bred by either parent in the past recent years. Shay is one of four progeny of both her sire and dam, and one of two full siblings. She is the only progeny of her 11 year old sire Naazaar and her 16 year old dam Venice, to inherit the Sabino Overo gene or the Wild Bay gene. All of which makes Shay all that much more special - All that much more unique and rare.
Naazaar is by the Australian National Champion Stallion Anaza El Nizr, son of the international sensation Ruminaja Ali. Naazaar's dam, Naazifah, is by Simeon Sa'ar and out of the Naadirah daughter Naazirah. Naazirah was sired by Mustafa, arguably one of the greatest Arabians of all time.
Shay's dam, Venice, is out of the extremely successful breeding mare Nadaara. Nadaara is by the awesome Clifton Park Naadar, who is a double Naadirah grandson, both crosses through Naadirah's awesome first born daughter Nara. Nadaara is maternal granddaughter of the great stallion Sankt George, and out of Roscilla, who brings the only Crabbet influence to Shay's pedigree. Venice is maternal sibling to the spectacular endurance gelding Kaysand Farrazah, who competes successfully on an international scale, and Kaysand Shere Khan, who is the paternal sibling to Chetar Arabians Purebred Mare Kaysand Kameeka (x Ali Kamar [iidusa]) and an exquisite young stallion just beginning to make a mark on the Arabian world. Venice is by Sa'ardel, son of Simeon Sa'ar, who requires no introduction, out of the Ambition daughter M Model, bred by Mulawa.
A pedigree full of legends that have made unparrelled contributions to the Arabian Breed, and whose influence ensures that Shay will produce some undoubtedly outstanding progeny for Chetar Arabians in the future. When I began the search for a new addition for Chetar Arabians, and considered the qualities I wanted to add to the Stud, I could never have imagined that I would be so lucky as to have every one of my hopes and expectations not only met, but far exceeded, by the young lady I found needing a new home at precisely the right time. Royal Court Satin is, in my mind, a perfect addition to Chetar Arabians!

Sabino Overo expression markings of full length, irregular facial white extending to the lips and nostrils, the speared/jagged edged white leg markings and body ticking in irregular groupings. Less common is Shay's mane and tail white, or frosting, which, along with her body ticking, is becoming more prevalent with age. Shay's big Sabino Overo indicator though, and the colour feature that really sets her apart from other Sabino Overos, is a large solid white belly patch around 6 inches by 5 inches in size. The patch has irregular edges and partial 'bleeding' into the surrounding coat. This Sabino Overo charateristic is large enough to enable Shay to be registered as a Pinto, which will be done in the coming months, making her one of only a handful of Purebred Arabians that are dual registered as Pintos in Australia - Niarla Silver Shakizka, Chetar Arabians other Pinto Purebred Arabian Mare is another such dual registered Pinto Purebred Arabian. To have been able to acquire two of the rarest Purebred Arabians in Australia within one year is still amazing to me - I am extremely lucky to have these beautiful ladies gracing my paddocks and I can't wait to see if they produce to Azzaam as I think and hope they will!!
