Golden Crest Tiffanie joining Chetar Arabians was the result of years of patient waiting on my part. My very first Arabian was a Palomino Tobiano mare, and the first foal I ever bred was from the same mare, a Palomino Sabino Overo + Tobiano filly. When I fell pregnant with my daughter I made the hard decision to sell both of those girls, and have been on the lookout for a mare that could come close to replacing those important ladies in my life ever since.
I found Tiffanie when I had finally come to the conclusion that I wouldn't find a mare similar to the girl that stole my heart all those years ago, and it was easy for me to see that Tiffanie joining Chetar Arabians was simply meant to be.
Golden Crest Tiffanie is a seasonal Palomino with Sabino Overo and Tobiano white pattern genes. Seasonal Palominos change coat shade with the seasons. In Winter, it is extremely hard to see where Tiffanie's Palomino ends and her white pattern markings begin. The only indication that she is even a Palomino when wearing her Winter coat is her muzzle, where her palomino coat only lightens a few shades.
Tiffanie's Sabino Overo markings are classified as minimal. She has a connected large star and stripe that widens to cover both nostrils, her upper and lowers lips and chin except for a small pigmented patch on her upper lip the size of a five cent coin. She has throat splashes that extend under and along her jawline and lightning stirkes and disconnected white on her off side hind leg. Tiffanie's body markings are essentially the result of Tobiano, but they have also been affected by the Sabino Overo gene in places. Most of her body markings are lacey edged with her hindquarter markings having white hairs travelling into the Palomino (ticking), and coming to points similar to that of lightning strikes. Her Palomino flank shields are ticked through with white, giving the impression of her hind Palomino markings being a few shades lighter than her forequarter markings when in fact it is actually a very consistent shade of gold. Her off hind Sabino Overo leg markings continue on the upper inside with disconnected, intensely ticked Sabino Overo patches, and her belly is also intensely ticked through. Golden Crest Tiffanie is sired by the minimal Sabino Overo Purebred Arabian Stallion Caramea Checkmate. Though unshown himself, Checkmate has been successfully campaigned in Endurance as well as being his owners' pleasure and trail mount. Checkmate is sired by the Australian National Top 10 and multi Supreme Champion Halter and Ridden Stallion Caneagle Hasad. Hasad's sire, Amir El Shaklan, certainly needs no introduction! Hasad is out of the Nefertiti granddaughter Nasula, dam of sensational show stoppers. Checkmate's dam, Sahateyn Mi-Shanteh, is the granddaughter of Ruminaja Bahjat, full brother to the internationally reknowned supersire Ruminaja Ali. Add to the list the likes of Sindh, Riffal, Royal Domino, Silwan, Spindrift...all on her paternal lines. Multiple crosses to the Silver Family and the influence of the highly reknowned Avondale Stud's foundation stock on the maternal side complete the reasons that make it easy to see why I am excited about what Tiffanie brings to the Chetar Arabians Breeding Program.
