2.50am this morning brought the long awaited arrival of Chetar Arabians newest addition!
Chetar Al Tariq (pending) is my first born dilute foal under the Chetar Stud name. By Boomori Kahlua, out of Caprice, Tariq’s a big, healthy boy, with a whole heap of leg under him, huge eyes, and a fair bit of chrome!
Caprice was 16 days overdue and needed some assistance foaling, but everything worked out - And after the heartbreaking losses of last season, it’s a huge relief for me to have this gorgeous young man join us in the best of health. Check out the Youngstock Page for more information and photos of Chetar Al Tariq.

Chetar Arabians New Cross Country Area
New Mare For Chetar Arabians
14th September 2008

…..Yes, another new mare is joining the Chetar Arabians mare band!
Just when I thought I was not going to succumb to purchasing another mare for a while, a young lady that I have been admiring from afar for quite some time happens to be all of a sudden available to me... & I’ve learnt that those once in a lifetime opportunities just don’t come along very often!  The extremely pretty Black Bay Tobiano mare ‘Wayward Angel’ will be joining Chetar Arabians in the New Year. For the moment she is content to wait out the arrival of her first foal by Vega Gold N Destiny, who is being retained by Kerry & Colin James of Krystal Creek Arabians. Angel will be bred to the stunning Purebred Arabian Stallion Santiago KEI for a late 2009 foal for Chetar Arabians! Hopefully a coloured filly from the pairing to join the ranks of the CA Broodmare band in the future!
Sincere thanks go to Kerry & Colin and all of those at Krystal Creek Arabians for entrusting me with their precious Angel.

Chetar Arabians Cross Country area is officially now under construction!! I’ve been planning this additional property feature for quite some time now, and am very happy to be able to announce the construction is underway :) The Cross Country area will be available for all of Chetar Arabians agisters’ exclusive use, with the cost of use included in the monthly agistment prices -  which start from just $70 per calendar month! The Cross Country area will feature permanent, semi-permanent and non-permanent (movable) jumps of various and alternative heights. There will be jumps to suit every level of skill, from riders just testing out their horses’ jumping ability through to those dedicated to Eventing. Planned elements include a range of verticals, spreads, oxers, apexes, logs, corners, tyre jumps, banks, steps, brushes and water jumps + more!!. The design and layout has been thoroughly thought through and planned meticulously, and will enable a range of courses to be ridden within the same area - an additional benefit to the area will be the movable verticals and spreads (as well as a few other specialty jumps!) that can be used in the arena or within the cross country area for ShowJumping training as well as Cross Country training. The Cross Country area surface is quite level, with a natural grass covered, sand and soil mixture footing that ensures great grip and the best concussion absorption available - the perfect area for jumping, soon to have the best Cross Country area available in the  Western Suburbs!

Shyning Lyte Now A Permanent CA Mare
18th August 2009

As some of our regular visitors would know, the beautiful Chestnut Sabino Overo/Tobiano Part Bred Arabian Mare Shyne (Raven Lodge Born Brave x Bluegrass Snap Shot)) has been a member of the Chetar Broodmare band since joining us on lease in December of 2007 from Burabas Miniatures in Northern Victoria. She is currently in foal to the Straight Egyptian stallion Kaysand Prince Of Dreams, due in January 2009. Shyne quickly became a favourite of not only mine, but also those that have had the pleasure of meeting her, and  even has a fair few admirers in amongst our site visitors also! It just so happens that a change in circumstances for both Chetar Arabians and for Shyne’s owners’, Cheryle and Laura McMillan of Burabas Miniatures, has resulted in Chetar Arabians permanent acquisition of Shyne! She is now to become a fixture of the Chetar Broodmare landscape - I hope to get her out in the show ring in the future, but for now I’m keen to see what she produces when covered by Azzaam this season!!  I know there is quite a few of her fans out there that are also waiting to see if the pairing holds up to expectations!

Golden Crest Tiffanie Joins Chetar Arabians
28th July 2008

This month Chetar Arabians welcomes yet another new addition to the broodmare band!
For a long time I have been searching for the perfect Palomino Pinto Part Bred mare to bring into the Chetar Arabians Breeding Program. My very first horse was a Pally Pinto Part Bred mare, and the first foal I ever lost was also a Palomino pinto filly. Then my first Palomino Pinto broodmare was a victim of bad circumstance that led to me having to give her up, and then my paint mare Docs Lil Puzzle lost a Palomino Sabino filly the year that I purchased her.  All of these girls hold a special place in my heart, and I’ve felt their loss intensely. Finding the right Palomino Pinto mare to fill the void in my life left by the special girls I’ve lost was a blessing, and I couldn’t be happier to have found her!
Golden Crest Tiffanie is a Palomino Sabino Tobiano Part Bred Arabian mare with the most stunning of looks and type. As soon as I set eyes on her I knew that she was the one I was looking for. Her previous owner had fallen on some hard times and Tiffanie didn’t look her best for it when we met, but I saw her potential and made my decision to bring her home based on what could be, and not on what was. Within the week the shy, timid little mare that I met that day was blossoming into one of the more spectacular sites gracing the Chetar paddocks. She started packing on the weight, and with the good food also came the floating trot. Swan neck extended out  with her head held high and tail flagging up over her back as she went out to meet her new paddock mates. Full of snort and high stepping grace, Tiffanie took only a matter of days to prove to me that I had made the right decision!
Tiffanie is by the handsome Minimal Sabino Purebred Arabian Stallion Caramea Checkmate (by Caneagle Hasad, by Amir El Shaklan) out of the Palomino Tobiano Part Bred Arabian mare Golden Crest Trixie (By Avondale Peter Pan). Tiffie will be bred to Chetar Arabians Flaxen Sabino Rabicano Purebred Stallion Azzaam in the coming months for an early 2009 Season foal. See Tiffanie’s page (via Mares) for more information on Chetar’s newest addition!

Some Big Changes For Chetar Arabians
30th June 2008

After the heartache of last season and the devastating loss of our two colt foals, I had to make some hard decisions about which horses should stay with Chetar due to the insanely high vet & surgery bills incurred with the colts’ losses. I had to downsize the herd for a while, but for no  where near as long as I thought I would have too!
I turned around one day six months later & realized that Chetar Arabians was in a position that was even better than prior to last season! I, more than anyone, am still quite surprised at how fast things have moved along for Chetar! I’ve been able to improve upon the broodmares in the paddock & the potential of our breeding program with each new acquisition, & it seems the ideal mares for our situation and my preferences have become available at the perfect time, whether as a lease horse or as a new purchase. With the business in a great position I decided it was time to find an exceptional mare to bring something special to the stud, and so I started the search.
I had the mare that I was looking for firmly etched in my mind. I wasn’t particularly looking for a registered AHSA mare, but she definitely had to be a derivative. It took me only a few weeks to find the girl that I’d been looking for. She is one of a kind, and one of those mares that I never thought to be able to own so early in the stud’s history. Caprice joined us in June. She is a double dilute bay (perlino), and also carries the sabino gene. To date, she has produced only pinto dilute foals to solid coloured stallions. In addition to Caprice bringing these attributes to the stud, she is also in foal to the up and coming Pure Crabbet Stallion Boomori Kahlua. I was very happy with my new acquisition, and thought that, for the time being, there would be no new horses for CA. I was wrong!
I decided to check up on one of my favourite Arabian Studs, Esplendour Arabians in South Australia. I found that a mare I’ve been following around the country for a number of years now was, amazingly enough, available for purchase. Once before she had become available for purchase and I had been very disappointed in being unable to make an offer for her. I made one of the easiest decisions ever in deciding to purchase this awesome girl now that I was in a position to do so.. It’s not often you get a second chance with a mare like this and there was no way I was going to pass it up!!
Therefore, I have the unbelievable pleasure of announcing the acquisition by Chetar Arabians of Niarla Silver Shakizka - Bay Pinto Sabino Purebred Arabian Mare, by the East Coast Champion and two time Australian National Top Ten Stallion Camelot Retreat Shiraz and out of Windella Silver Shaklana, A Class Champion Mare and full sibling to the Australian National Champion Mare Windella Silver Shadow! ‘Kizzie’ as she is affectionately known, comes to us from Esplendour Arabians in South Australia, and will be bred to Azzaam this coming season. Fingers crossed for Chetar Arabians first Purebred Sabino foal!!
