Chetar Arabians ~ YOUNGSTOCK ~ Chetar El Zahirah

I have never been so glad I refrained from overindulging on New Years Eve when this beautiful young lady decided to make her arrival into this world at 9am on New Years Day morning!
Christened "Chetar El Zahirah" (pending), she is the final foal for Chetar Arabians for the 2008/09 Season - And what a way to finish the season off!
Zahirah is arabic for 'Shining'. I wanted to honor the beautiful Shyning Lyte by naming her first born after her, and from the moment she was born, I knew the name fit Zahirah to a tea - This little lady simply "shines"!

Zahirah has the most amazing, people loving temperament - even more so than her dam, which anyone who knows or has met Shyne will find simply amazing! Zahirah has been named not only to honor her beautiful dam, but also for her temperament and looks. Zahirah simply shines in all ways. There are no words to describe just how very lovely she is, from the edges of her dainty little hooves, right up to the tips of her curly, tiny ears. I could immediately see just how special this lady was from the moment I met her.

Zahirah was born on the first anniversary of the loss of her half brother from my paint mare Docs Lil Puzzle, making her arrival just that much more special!
Chetar Arabians has not only been blessed with a fantastic, healthy foal crop this season, we've also been gifted with a Christmas foal and a New Year's Day foal in the same season! All three foals are wonderful examples of what I am aiming to achieve with my Breeding Programs, and I

Chetar El Zahirah is the epitome of all her bloodlines are consistently reknowned for. This cross has produced a Part Bred Arabian with more substance, class and type than most of the modern purebreds getting around these days. Zahirah is being retained, and will join me in the show ring, along with her half brother Chetar Al Shahkir, next season. I have great confidence that Zahirah will hold her own well in the Part Bred ring and can't wait to show her off!

Chetar El Zahirah is sired by the Straight Egyptian Arabian Stallion Kaysand Prince Of Dreams. Prince is by the imported in utero stallion Ali Kamar (iidUSA), out of the Tarong Shahgig mare Arundel House Sharah (x Arabian Park Egyptian Perfection). Zahirah's dam, Shyning Lyte, is by the multi Supreme Champion stallion Raven Lodge Born Brave (Lakevale Cheyenne x Raven Lodge Moonlight Sophistication), out of the stunningly beautiful dam of Australian National Champions Bluegrass Snap Shot (Danteffa x Nihal Phillipa). Zahirah's pedigree speaks for itself - I knew this foal was going to be special, but even I couldn't have realized just how lovely she would be! Zahirah is by far the most stunningly beautiful Part Bred Arabian I have ever laid eyes on, and that she is the product of my very own Breeding Program is still quite unbelievable to me!

From the moment of her birth, Chetar El Zahirah has shown just how special she is. The only thing that could make her more perfect, in my mind, was if she had inherited colour from her dam. Not that Zahirah was anything to complain about! She is utterly beautiful in all ways and was guaranteed a place at Chetar Arabians for life for her beauty and correctness alone. Just to look at her is to know you are in the presence of one extremely special young lady.
Well, Chetar El Zahirah began to shed her foal coat not long ago, and with her shedding came a few suprises. In the beginning the strange characteristics she began to diplay had me baffled. It's not often I second guess myself on identifying horse colours, but Zahirah definately had me questioning myself. But, I have now confirmed just what colour I was seeing as Zahirah's coat has almost completely shed now - And I am absolutely ecstatic to announce that Chetar El Zahirah is in fact a Bay RABICANO!
I am, of course, very excited about what this means in regards to Zahirah herself, but in addition to Chetar Arabians 2008/09 Foal Crop now being 100% coloured, in has been proven that Chetar El Zahirah's dam, Shyning Lyte, not only carries Sabino Overo and Tobiano, but also Rabicano colour genes!
